EIN "Downunder" E-Alert #15

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS

Hi everyone,

Welcome to 2007. This is going to be a FANTASTIC year for Elvis fans, with an unprecedented amount of new CDs, DVDS, Books and memorabilia released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Elvis leaving the building.

First of all we want to inform you of all the great viewing on Australian TV this week, and hope that some of you will be making the Elvis Birthday celebrations in Parkes, NSW.

Above all we hope that you are saving for the real excitement of the 2007 EIN Elvis Tour in August. Nothing will beat the pleasure, interest and fun that you will have with us as we visit all those places so very special to Elvis Aaron Presley, Hollywood, Vegas, Tupelo, Nashville, Memphis... There are still a few places left and our price is very reasonable when you consider that Memphis Hotels are already charging US$230 per person per night during Elvis week. Plus we have our very special contacts with Elvis' close friends that no other organisation can provide. It will be VERY SPECIAL make sure that you are there with EIN in Memphis in August for the Elvis time of your lives!! Click here to contact us ASAP.

If you belong to our EIN Fan Club you will have recently received your Christmas EIN Newsletter packed with News, photos & articles not featured on our EIN Website. You will also get the chance to enter the EIN Annual MEGA Quiz with multiple chances to win great Elvis prizes. We are featuring a few of the multiple choice questions below to give non-members a taste of our quiz. If you know the answers, then why not join up with the EIN Fan Club and you will have a chance to win something Elvisy and special! Click here to join the EIN Fan Club.

Because 2007 is going to be such an active year the EIN Website is starting two new features. A 'New Releases' page featuring everything Elvis that is hitting the market in 2007, plus a special EIN selection of the 'Best of Elvis' videos on YouTube.

EPE's head of marketing Paul Janowski, says they plan to make use of sites like YouTube and Myspace to exploit the Presley brand. EIN found it surprising that Janowski even admited to EPE adding content to YouTube. With so many Elvis videos around, some essential, some fun, some historically interesting, some plain dreadful, EIN helps you avoid the dross and brings you the 'Best of Elvis' on YouTube.

Both new features are launched on our EIN Website, this Monday on Elvis' Birthday.

Meanwhile enjoy our first E Alert of 2007:

Have a fabulous celebration for Elvis' Birthday, and enjoy our the Birthday selection and rare photos below,

Piers & Nigel

Elvis' Birthday Celebration and LiveCam from Graceland:
This weekend, fans will be celebrating Elvis's birthday here in Memphis with many events, including the Birthday Proclamation on January 8. If you are not able to be in Memphis, you can still enjoy the fun with our Graceland Ticket Pavilion LiveCam that will be up through Jan. 9. Visit the LiveCam during the Elvis Dance Party on Jan. 5th from 8 PM to midnight, and the Elvis Insiders Tour and Reception on Jan. 7 from 6 to 9 PM. Click here to have a look at Graceland LIVE CAM

Elvis alive and well in Viva Las Parkes: Next Weekend January 13/14, the 10,000 residents of Parkes will add to their town's population by 50 per cent. The occasion? The Parkes Annual Elvis Festival. Now in its 15th year the celebration sees hip-swiveling Elvis impersonators and more than a few Priscilla wannabes arrive from all over the world. Elvis look-alikes play golf, sing gospel, get married in true Las Vegas style with Elvis celebrants and eat lots of fried chicken.
The Elvis festival has had a chequered history, says Parkes Champion Post editor Roel ten Cate, but after a campaign by their paper and support from the local council, it now continues to go from strength to strength. The Elvis Express from Sydney to Parkes is already booked out, but Elvis desperados need not fear, there is space in the Tent City at North Parkes Oval (about $30 per person a night) and many homes are offering to host extra visitors. Parkes is in the central east of NSW, about five hours drive from Sydney (375kms). If you are not up for the drive, there's always the train in 2008.

Watch the tribute to the NSW country town of Parkes and their ongoing love affair with American crooner Elvis Presley. The ClubsNSW Parkes Elvis Festival runs from January 10-14. The interview is with Parkes Champion Post editor Roel ten Cate, interviewer is Brenda Cunningham-Lewis with multi-media by Jay Lowe. (News, Source: Amber Smith)
