The inspiring El Gamble story:
The El Gamble story is one of incredible triumph, subsequent adversity and an inspirational comeback.
In one 12 months period in 1977-78 El Gamble created show business history in Australia with:
That one year took its toll and needing a change, El Gamble left the Elvis world to pursue other singing challenges.
Twenty eight years later, in August 2006, following a successful rock ‘n’ roll & cabaret career, El Gamble made an inspirational return to the Elvis world in Australia’s toughest Elvis town, Parkes, NSW (home to the annual Elvis Festival).
Now afflicted by a rare motor neuron disease, which had also affected his confidence to perform “Elvis”, this time El Gamble had to sit throughout his performances.
The success of his return was stamped by a standing ovation in Parkes in front of a crowd more accustomed to watching ETA’s in white jumpsuits gyrating across the stage. |

What won them over was El Gamble’s gift, a truly incredible “Elvis” voice.
That one performance in Parkes saw El Gamble invited back for headline concerts, and in January 2008, the first ever world podcast by an ETA.
Since his return El Gamble has also been recognized by Elvis’ original TCB Band and Conductor Joe Guercio as:
“One of the closest voices that they have ever heard”
As 2008 approaches, El Gamble continues to battle his rare motor neuron condition. With an inspirational strength of character he continues to perform to enthusiastic crowds and in less than 2 years has recorded more than 10 albums of Elvis songs and is regularly voted the #1 ETA on Elvii Radio.
A strength of the El Gamble voice is his ability to deliver sublime versions of the full range of genres mastered by Elvis.
Regarded by a number of Elvis’ inner circle as the vocal “mirror of Elvis”, the El Gamble voice resonates with all that Elvis’ own vocal presence signifies……sincerity, feeling, and at appropriate times, impressive power.
Be it rock ‘n’ roll, ballad, country, blues or pop, once you hear El Gamble you will quickly realize why he is Australia’s “Voice of the King”.
