'The King In Motown City' New '77 Import CD: The EP Collector Label is back with another unique release of Elvis show in Detroit, April 23rd, 1977. AUDIENCE recording
This was the very last show that Elvis played in Detroit, primarily known as the center of the automobile industry, where three major car manufacturers operate - Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, hence the nickname Motown ("motor city").
The April 22nd, 1977 concert was previously released in 2006 on the extremely poor sounding CD "The King Has Landed" with several tracks being incomplete. This show was never available in solid, listenable sound - until now! The new tape was obtained from an American fan and has been carefully restored and mastered in January 2024, with a focus on preserving the integrity of the original recording. Hence, some minor hiss may be present; we felt it more important to keep the high frequencies and natural ambience of the original recording for historic reasons. The sound is very good for an off line recording - ask your CD dealer for audio samples!
As usual the CD is packaged in a nicely designed digipack with local press review. All images used for the artwork were taken during April 1977 tour including real Detroit photos.
EIN Note: Elvis played Detroit on April 22 1977,  not April 23rd!
The concert did not get great reviews

'Elvis '68 Unleashed' Double-Vinyl: The first vinyl release from Reel Trax, a new 2LP set 'Elvis '68 Unleashed' The Legendary Standup Shows.
After the great success of our recent CD release from December of last year which has been inspired by the celebration of the 55th Anniversary of Elvis' legendary NBC-TV Special we decided to release the soundtrack now carefully remastered for vinyl – on a stunning looking 12-inch 2-LP set and for even better sound results to be played at 45 RPM!
Vinyl collectors are well aware that two RPMs are widely available now: 33 and 45 revolutions per minute. 45 RPM records have better sound quality than 33 ⅓ RPM records do. This is because they have more grooves for the turntable's needle to read and can express more complex and nuanced sound patterns as a result.

Step back in time and relive the extraordinary talent of Elvis Presley. "Elvis Unleashed '68" pays tribute to a musical icon who lives on forever in the hearts of millions of fans around the world. We revisit the probably most vibrant scenery of the so-called '68 “Comeback”. Reel Trax is bringing back the magic with a brandnew 2-LP release. Carefully curated and remastered in great-sounding Stereo in a highly valued professional studio in Europe, the legendary Standup shows are coming to new life.

The sensational looking double album complete with liner notes from those who were there in 1968 (and written especially for this release!) is a real eye-catcher and informative as well. This album captures the raw and unrestrained energy of Elvis Presley like never before. It transports you directly to the iconic standup shows of “The King”, recorded in June 1968.
After a period of absence from the stage, Elvis made a triumphant return to the spotlight with a short series of unforgettable concerts before a close audience. Meant to be shown in parts in the then upcoming TV-Special simply called “ELVIS” it was a sensational appearance in its own. In general it was a time when he rediscovered his musical roots while filming the special and he delivered his art with pure passion. With an impressive collection of timeless classics, breathtaking vocal performances, and spontaneous interactions with the audience, "Elvis Unleashed '68" reveals the true essence of a legendary artist at the peak of his power.

'Elvis Presley At 3am: Sahara Tahoe 1973' New MRS: The UK MRS label are releasing a new set 'Elvis Presley At 3am: Lake Tahoe 1973' out at the end of February 2024.
The Deluxe 2CD set features two shows from Elvis’ May 1973 engagement at The Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Included is a rare 3am charity performance as well as the midnight show from the previous night.
Both shows for the first time are presented in stereo.
The accompanying booklet includes memorabilia and rare photos along with liner notes that set the scene.
MRS official publicity has not been released yet but EIN notes that the 3am show is in very good quality audio and Elvis is loose, having fun, the mix is excellent and captures an important part of Elvis' emotional year.
Similarly the Midnight concert is a very good performance, with a lovely ‘Im Leavin’, ‘I’ll Remember You’ and stunning ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.
Also the shows feature Emory Gordy playing bass guitar which is an interesting change since it is Emory Gordy's thundering bass that drives along the 'Burning Love' single so fabulously.
The VINYL version only features the 3am performance

CD Review 'The Joan Deary Tapes Vol1' - and has Ernst won the war?’: Two years ago EIN posted an article suggesting that the Elvis bootleg era was over, that FTD and Ernst Jorgensen had truly won the war.
So it was a surprise to many that a new bootleg label ‘Joan Deary Inc’ suddenly popped up two months ago promising a very similar series of releases to the Madison ‘A Legendary Performer’ set.
They promised "Unique content... with never issued before outtakes. Some very different mixes among other glorious sounding tracks. Every track comes in great sound quality and has been remastered for optimal listening pleasure..."
EIN was suspicious from the start - to be honest I saw no need to purchase this CD - but several EIN readers wanted to know more before they put down their hard earned cash.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley investigates to see if there is life in this new series of Elvis bootleg releases...
Please read this before ordering ... we've done the work so that you don't have to!

'Elvis Meets Liberace' New Import CD: Straight Arrow decided to re-release the Las Vegas, December 2nd, 1975 Opening show, which was previously released in 1996 on "Season's Greetings From Vegas - Christmas Opening '75". Straight Arrow has now obtained an old AUDIENCE recorded tape used for the original and release this show again, using today’s sound restoration technology.
Elvis December 1975 engagement was meant to make up for his abbreviated Summer festival in August, cancelled just after 3 days and five shows. Starting on November 30th, for the following 3 days Elvis had stage rehearsals in the Las Vegas Hilton showroom. The only really new song added to the set list was "America (The Beautiful)." Bobby Hatfield from The Righteous Brothers and Elvis' old friend, the legendary Liberace attended this concert and they met with Elvis after his show. Surprisingly, Elvis performed the song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" for the very last time - definitely due to Bobby Hatfield's presence! Every second of the tape was enhanced in the renowned Sound & Vision studio to achieve the optimal listening experience. The sound was remastered to the correct speed.
This special Christmas release is presented in de-luxe digipack inspired by December '75 Las Vegas Hilton Hotel menu, accompanied with Variety press review and liner notes.
All images used for this project were taken on stage during Elvis' 1975 Las Vegas December Opening Night.
Straight Arrow is planning several releases for 2024 including more volumes of the "From John Herman Tapes" series and a special 3CD set with previously unreleased shows. Stay tuned!

'Elvis Presley Rock ’n’ Roll No.1’ "Stereo" CD Review: Back in May I reviewed ‘From Elvis at Sun’ “Mono II Stereo” compilation and at the time was hoping for more of the same.
Luckily for inquisitive Elvis collectors, producer Anthony Stuchbury is back with his take on Elvis’ first album ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll No.1’ - this time on the French RDM label.
Elvis’ very first LP had two key variations, the well-known classic RCA album and also the UK HMV version. This compilation starts with the 12 tracks from the RCA album then the extra five cuts from the HMV version plus the life-changing ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ single.
It’s a stunning selection of nineteen brilliant Elvis recordings.
“Mono II Stereo” remixing needs a producer who understands what Elvis’ sessions were all about and Stuchbury is not only a super-collector but also a man who really knows his Elvis recordings.
His work here is truly impressive.
With The Beatles releasing their early singles in DES stereo for 2023 Doncha' Think It's Time for RCA / SONY to do the same for Elvis.
EIN's Piers Beagley checks out the wonders of Elvis' first album in stereo

'ELVIS - The Joan Deary tapes Vol.2' New Import CD:  The publicity states... J.D inc. is proud to present you the second volume in our "The Joan Deary Tapes" series and again we have exciting tracks to share with you!
We present you different mixes, brand new acetates that are available here for the first time from the great "Bossa Nova Baby" to the original track-only take of "Who Needs Money" which Elvis and Ray Walker would later record their vocals to.
"Love Song Of The Year" is also presented in a whole different light, among other Stax acetates that are a worthy addition to your collection
We also have unedited outtakes here, a new long false start of "Padre" and we close the disc with several live highlights that includes an unreleased segment of the February 1970 multi-tracks, including some great extended interaction following the classic performance of "Polk Salad Annie" and the disc ends with a live version of "My Way" performed in Chicago on May 1st 1977 which comes in great multi-track recorded sound quality.
Like our first volume that sold out very quickly (really? EIN notes that it is still for sale at the usual dealers!!) this disc is presented in an attractive digipack that features brand new unpublished photos!
EIN Note: Buyer Beware. As we noted previously why Joan Deary's "personal collection" suddenly features these outtakes and new mixes makes one suspicious. A lot of these tracks have also been previously released several from 'Rebooked at the International'.  Please check before purchasing.

'ELVIS: Closing Night 1972' MRS CD Review: This MRS 2CD set features a live performance recorded on 4 September 1972,during the last night of Elvis’ seventh engagement in Las Vegas at the Hilton Hotel.
The show is presented in stereo. A bonus CD of remastered rehearsal tracks, recorded days before the engagement began, is also included.
While Elvis is perhaps not as full-blast as on the 'Opening Night' here MRS's 'Studio D' engineer has done some brilliant audio remastering, removing the bad cassette-tape-hiss of all previous releases. Emphasising the instrumentation with this "Stereo remaster" not only elevates Elvis and the musicians' performance but also places the listener right into the audience.
This night Elvis rocked into 'Johnny B. Goode' and even performed the golden-oldies with some real respect.
It's a great show.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley discovers something new in this re-release - the near perfect bookend to MRS' examination of Elvis’ 1972 Summer Festival.

'Elvis ´68 Unleashed' New Import CD: The publicity notes... The Reel Trax label present a completely new CD project – inspired by the soon to come celebration of the 55th Anniversary of Elvis´ legendary NBC-TV Special which aired December 3, 1968!
"Elvis Unleashed '68" pays tribute to a musical icon who lives on forever..
Carefully curated and remastered in great-sounding Stereo in a highly valued professional studio in Europe, the legendary Standup shows are coming to new life.
The sensational looking 6-panel deluxe album complete with liner notes from those who were there in 1968 (and written especially for this release!) is a real eye-catcher and informative as well.
With an impressive collection of timeless classics, breathtaking vocal performances, and spontaneous interactions with the audience,
"Elvis Unleashed '68" reveals the true essence of a legendary artist at the peak of his power.

The publicity states... ' High Spirit in Birmingham' will focus on Elvis’ December 1976 tour, featuring the show from December 29th, 1976, previously unreleased on vinyl and taken directly from the original high-quality tape.

The December 29th Show was previously released on CD but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound. The vinyl will be accompanied by a DVD with almost the complete show using different footage coming from the December tour. A Must-have!

The VV intention is to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility and without any doubt Elvis’ the December  tour it’s undoubtedly the best moment of Elvis in 1976, presenting him at the top of his possibilities, delivering great shows. If Rock is an attitude, then the man still has it. The performances are very good and Birmingham's show is surely the best of the tour.

Elvis sings and is still very active on the stage He performs all the songs to the maximum of his possibilities, presenting all the best of his repertoire from the previous years combined with the last 1976 single like Hurt and introducing a new song Unchained Melody inside his repertoire ranging in all musical genres as only he can do.
We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality and overall a great bonus DVD in order to be able to obtain a result that you can enjoy too.
The show is great and now consists of a solid collection of great-quality songs all well-performed. The range of Elvis’ performance is very wide we go from the rocking with the two classic Polk Salad Annie and Mystery Train/Tiger Man, the dramatic last single Hurt, without forgetting the sensitive For The Good Times  and the autobiographical You Gave Me a Mountain ending with the best topic moment show the powerful pop ballad Unchained Melody where Elvis accompanied himself at the piano and without a doubt represent the highlight of the complete tour.

‘Elvis - He'll Have To Go’  New Star DVD: From the reliable STAR label ‘Elvis - He'll Have To Go’, Elvis in Concert as never seen before.
The STAR team made an incredible new dvd featuring the Elvis in Concert footage in multiple angles!
For the first time ever present in widescreen.
Not only multiple angles were used but also the concert is edited without too much talking and songs blend in faster.
Due to this approach Elvis performances come out much stronger then on any other previous dvds. The "quick" edits give a whole new feel to it and although Elvis was not at his best his voice was still incredible.
Finally a "Release worthy" version is out now!
It contains all the songs from the original "Elvis in Concert" TV Special plus all tracks from side two of the album with the same name.
Footage from the original special has been combined with outtakes and rare 8mm footage.
As a bonus a very nice "just for fun" clip has been included.
"I wanna try something new" was one of the highlights from last years Baz Luhrman movie "Elvis". It showed Austin Butler as Elvis,  rehearsing in Vegas for his new show. Here you get to see "what could have been" since STAR edited the audio from the soundtrack with actual footage of Elvis. Hope you like it.
Also a nice official videoclip of "That's All Right" and some bonustracks with rare footage are included.
We almost forgot the title track; "He'll Have To Go" is a typical STAR clip with lots and lots of rare footage of Elvis "through the years"
Sadly after this final TV Special... He had to go, but.... "He will always be The King no matter what!"
Limited To 500 Copies - Pre Order Now it will be Gone Before Christmas!!
Check out the trailer HERE on YouTube

'Johnny & Johnny' New Import CD: The CMT label is back with another great new Spliced Takes soundtrack album!
Presented in a nice looking cardsleeve, limited to 500 copies!
This time they choose to rework tracks from two movies in which Elvis plays "Johnny". As always the tracks sound as if you never heard them before and clever edits make it sound fresh and new!
Some highlights are the "Solo" version of "Petunia, the gardeners daughter" which does not include Donna Douglas. (EIN Note: This is a highlight? Crickey!)
Same goes for "Look Out Broadway" although not the best songs Elvis recorded, they still sound pretty different than before.
An hilarious "Shout it Out" with lots of things going wrong without stopping plus lots of extended tracks.
"Everybody Come Aboard" has been spliced 7 times and has an alternate ending.
Although two different soundtracks the cd plays really well in this order.

'The Joan Deary Tapes - Volume 1' New Import CD: The publicity from new label 'JD Inc' states.... "The Joan Deary Tapes - Volume 1" offers some brand new content obtained a couple years ago from Joan Deary's personal collection after carefully digitizing these tapes we are now able to share something special.
The CD offers unique content, with different mixes and some outtakes that have never been issued before and is the start of a brand new CD series.
Listen out for the funky and different way Elvis sings the previously unissued take 7 of ‘If You Don't Come Back’, or a brand new outtake of the ‘Nothingville - Guitar Man’ medley from the '68 Comeback Special.
Some very different mixes like "Why Me Lord" from "Live On Stage In Memphis" and a stunning "Amazing Grace" also can be heard here among other glorious sounding tracks like live versions of "Release Me" and "America The Beautiful".
Every track comes in great sound quality and has been remastered for optimal listening pleasure and the digipack is filled with liner notes and brand new unpublished photos.
We hope you enjoy this first volume! Because volume 2 is not far off!
EIN Note: Why Joan Deary's "personal collection" suddenly features these outtakes and new mixes makes one suspicious. A lot of these tracks have also been previously released.  Please check before purchasing.

New FTD October Releases: The official FTD announcement is for these two new releases for October.
1. 'Elvis: Summer Of '76': As part of its ongoing live on tour series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of Elvis: Summer Of '76. Released as a 3-CD 5" digi-pak, this set features three 1976 concerts:
CD1 - Charleston, West Virginia, Afternoon Show, July 24
CD2 - Springfield, Massachusetts, Evening Show, July 29
CD3 - Hampton Roads, Afternoon Show, August 1.
EIN Note: FTD released another 1976 triple-pack back in early January and this third tour of 1976 was one of Elvis' worst. Starting just 10 days after Elvis fired Red, Sonny West and Dave Hebler he was not in a good way.
The Hampton Roads August 1 show has been out previously on bootleg (Fort Baxter’s ‘Bicentennial Elvis Experience') and Elvis sounds exhausted. Fans consider it one of his worst performances - what an odd choice for FTD to release. The only song of interest is a rough version of 'Return To Sender' but it's already released by FTD.
... Go to 'Elvis FTD/ SONY CD News' for tracklistings
Priced at around US$62.

2. 'From Elvis Presley Boulevard' VINYL - regular black-vinyl edition.
With the same tracklist as the 'Blue vinyl' version released back in March 2023, each double album features great outtakes and masters recorded in the legendary Jungle Room.
Songs include Hurt, For The Heart, Love Coming Down, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, Danny Boy, Solitaire and The Last Farewell.
See 'Elvis FTD/ SONY CD News' for details

3.'Elvis: The His Hand In Mine Sessions' FTD's 3-CD "complete" 'His Hand In Mine' sessions is being reprinted.
This is an amazing success story as the "complete" sessions version only featured a few more minutes than FTD's original HHIM 'Classic Album' release from 2007.

'Summer of '76 ' New FTD: Announced overnight a brand new 1976 3cd soundboard set focusing on Elvis' third tour of the year.
CD1 - Charleston, West Virginia, Afternoon Show, July 24
CD2 - Springfield, Massachusetts, Evening Show, July 29
CD3 - Hampton Roads, Afternoon Show, August 1.

FTD released another 1976 triple-pack back in early January and this third tour of 1976 was one of Elvis' worst.
Priced at around US$62

'Elvis Now In Person: 1972' New FTD Deluxe Set: At a recent Flaming Star fan-club event Ernst Jorgenson discussed the up-coming FTD Deluxe set 'Elvis Now In Person- 1972'.
It will be a two-book set (similar to the other recent FTD sets) by David English and Pål Granlund.
David English has mentioned that the set will cover Elvis' journey from January - April 1972. (Similar to the sensational 'TCB-In A Flash')
The audio is said to be...
CD1. February 1972 Las Vegas multi-track recordings. 8 unreleased tracks
CD2. Copy and paste of the Record Store Day vinyl release, "Burning Love - The RCA Rehearsals"
without the live version of "How Great Thou Art" at the end.
CD3. Copy and paste of the vinyl release "Live 1972."
CD4. April 5, 1972 Buffalo rehearsal.
A November 2023 publishing date is mentioned so expect official confirmation very soon

New 'MRS CAMDEN' label releases: In a move Col Parker would be proud of the UK ‘Memphis Recording Service’ (MRS) label are re-releasing 3 CD titles on its new alternate budget label 'MRS CAMDEN'.
This is mainly due to public demand and driven by low-stock on many older key MRS titles.

- One Night In Pearl Harbor CD
- Elvis On Television 1956- 1960 2CD
- The Complete 1950's Live Recordings 3CD

All three will be released on 24th November 2023.
The titles have slight changes in the name and on CD content and come in a Digi-Sleeve pack. Each comes with a small booklet.
The releases on this specific new label are scaled-down budget versions of the previous, priced for the mainstream market.

At the same time however, some of the CD’s include newly sourced audio upgrades.

- One Night In Pearl Harbor
On March 25, 1961, Elvis Presley performed what would become his final live concert for eight years! This benefit charity show, in aid of the USS Arizona Memorial fund at Pearl Harbor has been remastered and restored and includes 25-minute press conference taken just before the show.

Please note that the ‘Elvis Salutes the USS Arizona’ that was on the original MRS release ‘Such a Night in Pearl Harbor’ is not included on this release. However, the 25-minute press conference taken just before the show is now included for the first time on CD with MRS.

For the first time on this MRS release, unlike the previous version, is a newly sourced, recently discovered acetate of Elvis' appearance on the 'Frank Sinatra Timex' show in 1960.

'Hurt' Elvis 1976 Import Vinyl:
The publicity states... Out now is the bootleg double LP set called "Hurt".
It features Elvis' July 30 1976 performance in New Haven Connecticut.
This deluxe double lp is packed in a gorgeous gatefold cover and is available in white or blue vinyl.

EIN Note: It is truly hard to believe that fans would chose Elvis' July 1976 concert in New Haven as a great 1976 performance to listen to.
So even stranger to choose to put in on Double-Vinyl.
However LP collectors do like coloured vinyl, so maybe there is a market..
Tracklist is standard 1976 fare

All tracks are presented in  original glorious mono.

It is 'ELVIS WEEK' again so surely the bootleggers can do better than this? New visitors to EIN need to read our article 'The Collapse of the Elvis Bootleg Empire' - to explain these rather weak releases below ..
Summer Festival: Reflections Of '71 Volume 3: From the 'Stage Recordings' label a 3 CD set featuring 3 AUDIENCE recorded live shows from August 1971. Three more rockin' shows from the very same season. This set contains many highlights like the Beatles'  "Get Back" which Elvis only sang five times during this season. "Sweet Caroline" became an almost steady on the setlist during this August season, but did not return in 1972. Beautiful renditions of songs like "I'm Leavin", "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "It's Impossible" are also featured on this set.
Especially knowing no soundboard recordings have yet surfaced, these audience recorded shows are all we are able to enjoy.
All recordings have been painstakingly remastered & repaired.
Included in this box set are:
August 20, 1971 dinner show
August 21, 1971 dinner show
August 21, 1971 midnight show
EIN Note: These are 'Audience Recordings' previously in poor audio quality. It is possible that the August 20 Dinner show is a new find, but somehow I doubt it.

'Elvis Sings For Kids' & 'Elvis Sings Lullabies' Import CDs: After getting cast as "The Villain" in both the 'ELVIS' movie and Steve Binder's 'Reinventing Elvis' documentary Col Parker is back proving that you can flog any old Elvis sh*t to fans.
Following on from his 1978's "Elvis Sings For Children & Grownups Too" Parker has bootleggers putting out crap like this in 2023
From the label "Radio Recorders™" - listen, you can hear the ghost of Andreas van Kuijk laughing at you!
Their publicity states... One is never too young to get acquainted with the voice of Elvis Presley. Especially the youngsters among the Elvis fans will remember the first songs they heard of Elvis or the records their parents played for them when they were young.
Out now are two albums that are great keepers or givers, and not just for the little ones.
EIN Note: 'Elvis Sings For Kids' includes Elvis classics such as 'Old MacDonald', 'Ito Eats', 'Song Of The Shrimp', 'Yoga Is As Yoga Does', 'Britches', 'A Dog's Life', 'Confidence' and 'A Cane And A High Starched Collar' - you really don't get any better Elvis material than this!
.

EIN Note: 'Elvis Sings Lullabies' includes Elvis classics such as 'Big Boots', 'Mama', 'Puppet On A String - Film Version', 'In My Way - Film Version', 'Five Sleepy Heads',  and 'Dainty Little Moonbeams' - you really don't get any better Elvis material than this!

'Steel City '73' New Import CD: Super-fan John Herman saw Elvis on tour in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Virginia as well as other places including Elvis’ last two engagements in Las Vegas.
Straight Arrow was fortunate enough to obtain recently recovered 1st generation copy of the AUDIENCE recorded tape of  June 25, 1973 Pittsburgh, PA Evening show.
This historic concert was never before available in good sound quality - until now! Every second was enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. The sound was remastered to the correct speed. If you have enjoyed our previous 1973 CDs, we believe that you will love this one as well. Ask your local CD vendor for audio teasers! Presented in the usual Straight Arrow fashion with the top notch digipak including the photos of Elvis in Pittsburgh and Uniondale, June 1973 and great liner notes. This new release is another beauty that you must not miss!
Straight arrow is planning several volumes of “From The John Herman Mastertapes”.
Note: Elvis super fan John Herman also taped the legendary Pittsburgh 1976 New Years Eve show, widely released by bootleggers and by the official FTD label.
FTD have not released any concerts from Elvis' June 20 - July 3 1973 tour.
In memory of John Herman (June 25, 1942 – July 5, 2017) “I first met John Herman around 1974 - 1975. We met the old fashion ways - by mail. He was running ads in the record collector’s magazine GOLDMINE as well as in want ad sections of fan club newsletters. I belonged to several - it’s how we networked with other fans and collectors.
John and I swapped letters and traded Elvis items. Once our relationship was established we began speaking on the phone. Eventually those phone conversations about Elvis turned to more friendly topics. Family, sports and as the years went by - our health issues. He often relayed the story about being a young guy in South Carolina where he was born and being turned on to Elvis from the early days at SUN Records. One funny story involved getting the SUN release of “I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine” and disliking it so much that he used it for target practice one day. Imagine shooting a SUN label record! It was of course available in stores back then and before Elvis’ popularity exploded. Eventually John and his family relocated to Uniontown, Pennsylvania. A small town about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Pittsburgh would eventually figure greatly in his love for Elvis. John helped me immensely in building my Elvis collection. He was generous to me including trading audio cassettes, reel to reel tapes, video tape, films and records. We became such good friends he gifted me 3 Sun Records, two 45 RPM’s and one 78 RPM. As the years progressed he recorded many Elvis concerts. He saw Elvis on tour in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Virginia as well as other places including Elvis’ last two engagements in Las Vegas. He shared a lot of that with me as well as other fans. He even helped me get to some of those shows and shared his access with me - I’m forever grateful. Like many of us he began recording the shows on cassette tape. A process that was a learning experience for those of us who did such a thing. The more shows you’re recorded - the better you became at it. The same applied to shooting still pictures or Super 8 film. At some point you got better and better. The interaction between Elvis’ staff, his father and eventually Elvis himself gave John pretty good access to his hero. It’s a story I’ll relate in later editions. Elvis loved policeman and that was John’s profession - a Police Officer for his hometown. John became friendly with his hero on a personal basis.
The audio recordings he made, the photographs he shot and even the iconic films he shot have become legendary in the world of Elvis. With the passing of many of the original guard of Elvis fans and collectors – his is one of those names and stories that needs to be kept relevant. He left us with many great moments and memories that we all still share and enjoy.”

‘Elvis - I Was The One: The Singles Collection’ Import: For collectors only ‘Elvis - I Was The One: The Singles Collection’ five 45rpms +CD.
In June 1983 RCA released a follow-up to the "Guitar Man" remix album. This time David Briggs & Tony Brown were responsible for producing the 'I WAS THE ONE' LP.
The album was produced at the House Of David Studios in Nashville, Tennessee in June 1982.
In some way, the album is comparable with the 'GUITAR MAN' album as completely new backing tracks were recorded just like for the former album.
Though this time the producers were in for an even bigger challenge as the tracks chosen for this album dated back to the mid and late 50's while Felton Jarvis had to work with tracks recorded not even 10 years earlier, Briggs and Brown had to work with tracks about 25 years old.
Obviously recorded with different techniques.
You love it or you hate it is often said about this album, but a sure thing is that it is part of the Elvis catalogue from the 80's.
Now available is this wonderful 45RPM set containing 5 singles/ep's containing all the tracks from the original album on 45rpm and cd.
This set is available in Red or Blue vinyl.

'Elvis - On Stage' Undubbed Import: From the 'Now Entertainment' label 'Elvis - On Stage' Undubbed LP + cd.
At the end of June 1970, RCA released the album ON STAGE. Containing 10 live tracks which weren't immediately associated with Elvis.
Although mentioned on the front cover "February 1970" two tracks were recorded in August 1969.
Main attraction on the album was the mega-hit "The Wonder Of You" , further the album contained tracks like John Fogerty's "Proud Mary" and Tony Joe White's "Polk Salad Annie".
Especially "Polk Salad Annie" would become a standard powerhouse performance at his live appearances and be performed close to 500 times on stage.
The album reached gold status 8 months later. Though very powerful and close-to-perfect tracks were selected for this album, still some overdubs had to be done to make the album suitable for release.
Mostly some backing vocals needed to be added or replaced, some new guitar work was done too as well as some applause was added.
Some very false backing vocals by the Sweet Inspirations needed to be covered up too. These overdubs were done at the end of March and the beginning of April 1970.
This release contains the ON STAGE album in it's undubbed form. A great raw and powerful listen!!
This album is available on 180 grams Orange and White vinyl. A cd version is added too.
EIN NOTE: This was previously released in 'Rebooked - At The International' bootleg as cd2 "On Stage" The Felton Jarvis rough mix.

'Running To The End' New Import: From SR Records 'Running To The End' focusses on Elvis’ March 1976 tour, featuring the March 20 1976 evening show previously unreleased on vinyl and taken directly from the original high-quality tape.
The March 20 Midnight Show was previously released on cd but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound. The vinyl will be accompanied by a DVD with a complete show using different footage coming from the March tour. A Must have!
The SR intention is to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility and without any doubt Elvis’ first 1976 tour although not in the best shape presents him at the top of his possibilities, delivering great shows. If Rock is an attitude, then the man still has it. The performances are very good and Charlotte's show is surely the best of the tour.
We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality and overall a great bonus DVD in order to be able to obtain a result that you can enjoy too.
The show is great and now consists of a solid collection of great-quality songs all well-performed. The range of Elvis’ performance is very wide we go from the rocking with the two classic Polk Salad Annie and Burning Love, the bluesy Steamroller Blues to the dramatic last single Hurt, without forgetting the anthem America and the gospel How Great

and the autobiographical You Gave Me a Mountain ending with the story of his life Fairytale. However, talking about the best song we like to say that the rockin’ side is still present in Elvis, and Polk Salad Annie never sounded better: both Elvis and the band are pushing strong with Elvis’ swaying arms and karate kicks in complete control of the music.
This new SR special Product will be housed  in a deluxe 300 grams single sleeve that includes vinyl and Bonus  DVD. Collect in various colours!

'Aloha from Hawaii' 50th Anniv Release for Elvis Week 2023: The official announcement is out "Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of 'Aloha From Hawaii via Satellite'" - To be released August 11, 2023.
'Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite' is the apogee of an astounding career trajectory that began with Elvis' return to live performance in 1968 with an electrifying "comeback" television special that restored him to pop dominance after a seven year hiatus from the concert stage.

By 1973 Elvis was a living legend whose status as the world's first atomic-powered singer in the 1950s had evolved into movie stardom before his return to live performance generated a new iconography of Elvis. His watershed global telecast was the first full-length concert by any musician to be beamed around the world over communications satellites newly orbiting the earth in ever increasing numbers.
A half century later, the live album and concert film from that performance are perhaps the most revelatory documents of the live shows that Elvis poured so much of his heart and soul into during the 1970s.

The 50th anniversary edition of 'Elvis Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite', newly remixed and remastered, will be out as a 3CD + Blu-ray combined package - as well as 2LP VINYL and on digital on August 11, 2023.

For the first time in one authorized package, the entirety of the original January 14, 1973 performance, the previous night's dress rehearsal with a live audience (recorded in case of technical mishaps during the satellite transmission), several bonus tracks inserted into the US broadcast of the event and a Blu-ray transfer of the concert film. The deluxe set includes a 28-page booklet featuring in-depth liner notes penned by lifelong Elvis fan /respected music critic Randy Lewis, rare photos and memorabilia from the event,
Ernst Jørgensen and Matt Ross-Spang have fully remixed the album from the original 16-track live recordings, first captured on tape by esteemed mobile engineer Wally Heider and newly digitized for this release with audiophile 24-bit, 192 KHz transfers, to bring fans a fresh listen to what, for many, is the most treasured performance of Elvis' latter-day years on the road.
Jørgensen noted, "To me that is the biggest thing: Aloha never sounded this good and Elvis never sounded this good."
'Elvis Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite' 3CD/Bluray Box-Set price $55 and Double-LP VINYL price $37

3 New JUNE FTD releases: Out late June month, three new FTD sets - 'The How Great Thou Art Sessions' (5cd set), 'Houston, Fort Worth, Baton Rouge 1974' (3cd set), 'Fun In Acapulco' special DOUBLE-VINYL.
- 'The How Great Thou Art Sessions' (5CD set)
This 5 CD collection of "complete" session Masters and outtakes is presented in the usual 8”x 8” slipcase with a 28-page booklet featuring notes, photos, session data and memorabilia.
Recorded in May and June 1966, the 3x Platinum winning album also gave Elvis his first 'Grammy' award for "Best Sacred Performance".
Apart from the excellent gospel performances that include 'Run On', 'Stand By Me', 'So High' and 'Where No One Stands Alone' the sessions also spawned the secular hits 'If Every Day Was Like Christmas', 'Love Letters' and 'Indescribably Blue'.
EIN NOTE: While the vast majority of this all-important session has been released by FTD before there are a delightful selection of extra takes and false-starts to keep collectors interested.
Previously unreleased takes include from Down In The Alley, Somebody Bigger Than You And I, Without Him and the delightful Where Could I Go But To The Lord Take 1, albeit only 30 seconds.
Plus the delight of hearing the 'complete' session in chronological order.
Go here to FTD / SONY News 2023 for full tracklists
- 'Elvis: Houston, Fort Worth, Baton Rouge 1974' (3xCD SET)

The Astrodome, Houston, Texas (evening show) March 3,

and Louisiana State University Assembly Center, Baton Rouge, June 17
EIN NOTE: The Texas Astrodome concert has previously been bootlegged multiple times ie 'Event Number 8' / 8th Wonder Of The World.
It is a fascinating concert for only having Elvis' TCB band and without any orchestra. Hopefully the sound is vastly improved.
FTD have previously released 'Sold Out! CD1 - Tulsa, Oklahoma, March 1st' and also Fort Worth, Texas 1974 June 16 Afternoon and Evening Show

'The February 1977 Tour' New DVD: Cine8 returns after their very well received release "A Medley Of Costumes" with their second DVD featuring unreleased 8mm footage.
While Elvis his first tour of 1977 was a step down in comparison to the great december '76 tour, Elvis still seemed to have the spirit to put on some great shows, while he looked far from his best during the first show, things improved as the tour went on and he started to look much better.
This tour often has been overlooked when it comes to footage and so ''The February 1977 Tour'' DVD fills that gap!
On this DVD we've opted to create a watchable DVD consisting of various performances from 7 different shows on this tour, matched with soundboard sound you'll find complete performances of ''Fairytale'' as performed in Charlotte, NC on February 20th, the only version of ''Big Boss Man'', the two versions of ''Blueberry Hill'' Elvis performed on this tour along with the rare ''Where No One Stands Alone'', a rousing version of ''Polk Salad Annie'' and ''It's Now Or Never'' performed on February 16th among other performances, the DVD is rounded out by a few unedited clips, including a rare ''Funny How Time Slips Away'' and a blistering version of ''Hurt'' performed during the very first show of this tour.
Sit back, relax and enjoy this release!

The series next volume of the fifties, this time songs from 1953 - 1958.
It starts of with some Sun recordings and most sound very different then released before. The Acetate medley has been compiled from the first 4 tracks Elvis recorded for private use, "Just listen to his voice ladies and gentlemen".
'Blue Moon of Kentucky' starts of with the slow version and then gets really going once the master kicks in
'You're A Heartbreaker' has been edited the intro is different and it really sounds as if we have an alternate take.
Just for fun "Trying To Get To You" has been sped up and sounds like an attempt Elvis could have done.
'Tomorrow Night' starts of with the original recording and the later 1965 overdub blends in very nicely, at this moment we leave Memphis and arrive in Nashville
'I Was the One' has been spliced with all available takes and you can hear Elvis trying out different approaches to the lyrics.
'Ain't That Loving You Baby' was first released in 1965 but here we have the remastered version not released officially yet.

'Elvis Country On Stage' New Import CD: 'Elvis Country On Stage' is the new release from Meant to be Played Records.
It's been a long time since their last release, but it was worth the wait!
The series delivers discs not for collecting, but (meant to be) playing.
Although most die hard fans will have most (all) of the tracks included this is a special collection of Elvis' Country songs done live and one you will be playing more then once.
As a bonus you get some stage rehearsals from 1973 as well as the last country song Elvis ever did;  "I Really Don't Want To Know" taken from his last concert.
('Blue Moon of Kentucky' was the first country song Elvis sang live)
The artwork has a nice touch resembling a cool mixture from "Elvis Country" and "On Stage" resulting in 'Elvis Country On Stage'

'Elvis LIVE 1972' (double-LP) Review: On this brand new ‘ELVIS LIVE 1972’ double-vinyl release producer Ernst Jørgensen has cleverly included nearly all of the concert highlights from RCA's ‘On Tour’.
The album features a "best of" the four 'On Tour' concerts using one key section from each of the first three concerts (one per vinyl side) plus the missing unique tracks on Side D.
'On Tour' classics from Hampton Roads 'Polk Salad', 'Big Hunk O' Love', from Richmond 'It's Over', Greensboro 'Burning Love', 'Funny How Times Slips Away', 'For The Good Times' plus San Antonio 'Proud Mary', 'How Great Thou Art' are all included...
But if fans already own all these songs from the recent 'On Tour' box-set can this vinyl version really be worth buying?
This title was released on March 24 2023.

Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley spins the VINYL, played them loud and rumbled his bass-speakers....

'Elvis On Tour' Box-Set In-Depth Review: The January 2023 'Elvis On Tour' SONY release is a 6CD / 1 Blu-Ray box set comprised of the audio from four of the shows (and two rehearsals) that were part of Elvis’ 1972 North American tour.
Originally recorded for the Elvis On Tour concert film that was released later that year, the set features a total of 145 tracks, including 91 previously unreleased tracks, as well as the award-winning concert film on Blu-ray.
RCA/Legacy's Elvis On Tour box set is produced by Ernst Jørgensen and mixed by Grammy Award-winning Memphis-based producer Matt Ross-Spang.
Elvis' April 1972 concerts were magnificent, so hopefully this expensive 50th anniversary release including newly remastered concert performances captures the magnificence and excitement of the movie and Elvis' stunning shows.
After fifty years surely SONY/RCA will get it right.....

EIN's in-depth review by Piers Beagley checks out the positives and negatives of this long-awaited release in this 4,500 word review ...

'Rags To Riches' CD/DVD: Millbranch Music is back a completely new CD & DVD project!
“Rags To Riches – The Original Mono Mixes” is a 2-disc set: The CD includes 20 tracks from Elvis´ June and September 1970 Nashville Recording Sessions, all presented as the original mono mixes in top-notch sound! You may wonder why Elvis´ music was still mixed in mono in 1970. Well, all of Elvis’ 45 RPM singles from those days, almost to the end of 1971, were still being released in mono. Possibly because his releases were coming out of RCA Nashville, and some of the songs were only issued as singles and not so much as LP cuts, and therefore not mixed to stereo. Also, around this time, after a decade of indifference, country music radio started paying attention to Elvis again. Most of his singles from this period made the country charts.

During this period, RCA recording artists Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Eddy Arnold (and every other C&W artist on RCA) released most of their singles in mono. The first Elvis stereo single in the ‘70s was Merry Christmas Baby/O Come All Ye Faithful from 1971. Promo singles for Elvis´ music continued being released in mono until 1975.

As a matter of fact those single records from 50+ years ago (especially the promos) did have a unique sound which is powered a lot by a great punch. This detail in sound was for sure intended by the producers as it made a great effect when being played by radio stations back then.

The DVD in our new set has a running time of almost 100 (!!) minutes and we gave it the title “That´s The Way It Is In Motion”. While this is definitely not a re-edit of the original “That's The Way It Is” movie, it is a musical documentary of its own, and represents the album and the songs that appeared on it. And much more! Using higher quality outtakes than ever before with footage that has no watermarks or similar impairments, we are able to present it in the highest possible quality, like you are used from us.

All of the songs on the DVD are newly edited with several different camera angles. You´ll see and hear Elvis having fun rehearsing “You Don´t Have To Say You Love Me” on July 15, 1970 and also doing the tune live at the Opening Night performance on August 10, which has Elvis calling out Sammy Davis Jr.. We also included an interview segment of Sammy Davis Jr. talking about what he saw on stage that night accompanies the clip. A newly edited version of ''I Just Can't Help Believin´'' which goes from rehearsal to live is presented in split screens, using several different angles. Also on this DVD are newly edited performances of ''Make The World Go Away'', ''Polk Salad Annie'', ''I've Lost You'' and ''The Walk Through The Audience'' (which has never been edited properly before).

Added to that are several split-screen performances like ''Heartbreak Hotel'' from the August 12th 1970 Dinner Show and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. The “Little Sister / Get Back” sit down medley has been edited properly for the first time and is for sure one of the many highlights on our DVD. “Blue Suede Shoes” has been re-edited, despite its appearance in the original movie. This DVD brings you a great experience in going back to Las Vegas in the summer of 1970!

'Elvis: Let Me Be There 1974' FTD In-depth Review: A 3CD soundboard release from Elvis' January-Feb 1974 Las Vegas season and FTD's first new release for 2023.
Released as a 3-CD 5" digi-pak, this set features three 1974 concerts recorded via soundboard at The Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas on January 28, plus Jan 29 and Feb 1, 1974 Midnight shows.
So far FTD have only released one Dinner Show from this season .
The January 29, 1974 Midnight Show is totally new for collectorsm with the Jan 28 Dinner Show, and Feb 1, 1974 Midnight Show only been released as bootleg AUDIENCE recordings.
While the early 1974 performances are fine quality with new songs 'Help Me', 'Spanish Eyes', 'Let Me Be There', ‘Trying To Get To You’ and ‘My Baby Left Me’ in the set-list - the audio mastering here sadly leaves a lot to be desired.
Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell along with EIN's Piers Beagley check out this 1974 triple- pack.

Two New FTDs: FTD have announced the next release of two major sets
- 'Elvis As Recorded At Madison Square Garden' 3-CD set.
After Elvis completed a hugely successful and sold-out tour filmed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for the 1972 documentary 'Elvis On Tour' in April, confidence was high in the Elvis camp with all four shows at New York's Madison Square Garden sold out, as did the rest of the June tour. Any reservations Elvis might have had about performing in the Big Apple were quickly dispelled as the noise from the MSG crowd was deafening. The New York Times 'Arts and Leisure' headline summing up the triumph read 'Like a Prince From Another Planet'.
Elvis As Recorded at Madison Square Garden with the evening show of June 10 was a rush release later in the month and sold a million copies in the US in just a few weeks. Total US sales to date exceed 3 million, achieving triple platinum status. The afternoon show was eventually released by RCA as An Afternoon In The Garden in 1997, 20 years after Elvis' death.
This belated FTD 50th Anniversary Edition celebrates these legendary shows with remixed versions of both shows by Memphis recording engineer Matt-Ross Spang.
Disc 3 contains the original press conference, recorded at the New York Hilton on June 9th.
Packaged in our 8' x 8' 'Sessions' slipcase, this deluxe 3-CD includes a 20-page color booklet, great photos, memorabilia, press conference transcript and stories from the late Phil Gelormine.

- 'The Making Of Blue Hawaii': Following on from the success of ‘The Making of Jailhouse Rock”, FTD Books announces the release of “The Making of Blue Hawaii”.
The deluxe movie book by David English / Pal Granlund contains 387 pages of rare photos and extensive memorabilia from the film including shooting schedules and memories from cast and crew.
The music book includes 85 pages of photos and detailed recording documents.
4 compact discs feature the soundtrack recording sessions which are newly mixed from the original 3-track tapes.
Featuring 50 unreleased takes, the songs are sequenced in recording order for the first time.
A 33rpm vinyl EP is also included.
Perhaps to compensate Elvis fans who cannot afford the Deluxe books there is also the unusual announcement that "The recording sessions audio will be issued later this year as an FTD audio only release".

Author David English has posted two photos of the set on FECC.

‘The 1972 Multitrack Collection & More’ New Import:  From an unknown label a 6cd set of 1972 recordings. Their publicity says
.... This comprehensive deluxe set contains all known multitrack recordings recorded during live performances at the Showroom of the Las Vegas Hilton in 1972. All shows are painstakingly remastered with wonderful results.
Also all available stage rehearsals are featured on this set. Among many others you'll hear “Never Been To Spain”, “It’s Over”, “It’s Impossible” & “The Impossible Dream”. During the stage rehearsals songs like “Faded Love”, “Any Day Now”, “Something”, “My Babe” & “Until It’s Time For You To Go”.
As an absolute highlight you hear Elvis sing Mat Monro’s “Portrait Of My Love”. A beautiful ballad which must be heard.
Also included is the August 4 opening performance AUDIENCE RECORDING. Although this is a show recorded by a lucky attendee, this recording is of outstanding quality and it shows the result of what Elvis was working on during the rehearsals earlier that day.
The included fully packed bonus disc contains no less than 16 rare and official unreleased versions of studio tracks recorded in 1972.
This disc features alternate takes, unedited masters, undubbed & overdubbed masters and further unreleased alternate recordings.

EIN NOTE: it seems that everything on the bootleg has been released before. The August 4 opening performance has been on previous bootlegs in bearable audience sound.
Elvis' 'Portrait Of My Love' was officially released on FTD 'Stage Rehearsal' so why you need a 6cd set to hear it we don't understand

'ELVIS – Come What May The Lost 1966 Album' New Import CD": What If RCA had released an LP album like our brandnew REEL TRAX release in November of 1966?
We don´t know for sure of course, but we assume that the view on Elvis´ career in the Sixties would probably be significantly different. But since this obviously did not happen the way we wish it had, Elvis is mainly being remembered in this decade as a celluloid artist. His last studio album that had nothing to do with “typical” movie songs had been ''Pot Luck'' and it had been released way back in 1962.
In the meantime the majority of Elvis´ album releases had clearly been dominated by his movie soundtracks (which showed in releases on singles and EP´s as well – plus we all know that there would have to be that so-called “Lost Album” in ´63 which never had been realized ). It seemed to be a perfect formula to maximize financial success to release movie soundtrack after movie soundtrack. Even considering taking the risk to lose credibility as a performer who once was known as being a “rebel”, a man who changed just about everything in contemporary pop music business only 10 years earlier. Lost Album – Missed opportunity? Tracks 1 – 12 are taken from the forthcoming REEL TRAX vinyl release “Come What May” (LSP 3718), which deals with a so-called “Lost Album” theory for November 1966.
All other songs used for this CD release are mainly based on international 45 r.p.m single releases of 1966. While some of the titles are almost common knowledge when it comes to be known as single tracks on Elvis´ official RCA-Label (like “Tell Me Why” and “Blue River” for instance), the “Girl Happy” songs ‘’Do Not Disturb’’ and ‘’Spring Fever’’ have been released that year only on a single in India. The “Paradise Hawaiian Style” LP tracks “Drums Of The Islands”, “This Is My Heaven”, “House Of Sand” and the title track of the movie only showed up on single releases in the Philippines (all on RCA as well).
By the mid-1960´s it was about time to reflect Elvis´ musical career, to think about changes, to have respect for new influences in terms of songs and sounds. History tells us that this most likely never has happened. And still, there were opportunities to bring back some of that old magic from a couple of years earlier. One of those “chances” took its start in May of 1966 when Elvis returned to “Studio B” in Nashville for a recording session with material for two albums! One of them would become a Grammy-Award winning album full of Gospel music (just like in 1960), titled “How Great Thou Art”! The other one could have been similar to the one you hold in your hands now. Elvis was highly motivated to do the sessions and he did a mighty good job on the material which consisted of Gospel songs and well chosen Covers of genres from Folk to Rhythm n´ Blues titles. The ''How Great Thou Art'' LP became a gold album and sure made Elvis very proud of it. But what about the rest of the songs from the sessions in May of 1966? What happened to the possible second album? Well, there was no second album! The songs, which could have been used for another pretty solid “concept” (and therefore artistically much more valuable) album finally appeared on singles and as bonus songs on upcoming soundtrack albums. A big disappointment indeed and again we would like to ask: What if…..? To give it a fresh ambience, the best / most interesting alternate takes for the songs have been chosen. Disc 2 comprises more complete and partly spliced outtakes of the titles from Disc 1. Discover a stand-out and never before released version of the title “God´s Gonna Cut ém Down” (also known as “Run On”) which features a splice of Takes 1 and 6. Also included are the original demos of four songs sung by Bobby "Red " West. Two of them were even written by him!

Regarding the 'Off The Record, We’re The Greatest’ Vol 1 & 2' releases
The 'Elevated Stage Sound Records' label has contacted EIN to explain to us that these tapes were "Not taken without permission from Ed Hess" as we previously thought.
They explained...
1. They bought various new unreleased shows from a collector, including these 2 shows. He confirmed that he had owned them for a long time.
2. Because of the On Tour release they wanted to start with these 1972 shows. Unknown and unreleased a good start for a new label.
3. After production had begun they then found the story of Ed Hess on youtube telling the story in response to their announcement. But already being in production what could they do?
4. They have since been in contact with Ed Hess to try and arrange an appropriate deal.
Please see your Elvis Dealer for more info
‘Off The Record, We’re The Greatest’ Vol 1 & 2 New Import CDs: From a brand new label Elevated Stage Sound Records, two fully unknown AUDIENCE taped Las Vegas shows.
Elvis is bringing the house down, audience singing along and fans get crazy. And best of all, it’s never been available in any form until now! We will focus on two-mike- ambiance-, booth- and audience recorded shows.
This set features August 28 1972 Dinner Show, August 29 1972 Evening Show.
At Better Sound Studio they restored the audio, the recording itself was damaged although a good base. The rarity and the high-quality of the performances made us proceed to achieve a good result. For the purists, we did not remove all noise since it would also remove music detail and loses dynamic of the performance. In overall we tried to get the audio balanced, cleaning up where possible
in some cases it was impossible without degrading the audio, so we left it as it is. We raised the spoken parts to hear Elvis talking which was a challenge at some parts, his banter is fun at times and makes the whole show even better.
Both CDs are presented in a beautiful “Mini gatefold LP” CD package with inner sleeve and an inside poster. Wrapped in classic Vegas promotion style of 1972. No liner notes since the performances speak for themselves.

EIN NOTE: We now find that these tapes have been taken without permission from "ED” from 'The King’s Court'. He writes, "The reason I’m open about my mother recording the Elvis Concerts back in the day is because it’s been over, or just about 50 years since she did it. I figure she’s due the recognition as she never sold, or profited from the tapes in any way since recording them. My intention is to get them out to whoever is interested. Someone took advantage of that and now they are being bootlegged for about $50 US each?.

This 4CD set contains a varied selection of live performances drawn from Elvis’ seventh engagement in Las Vegas. The shows, recorded at the Hilton Hotel, took place during Elvis’ summer festival in the month of August 1972.
The four concerts are 11 August Dinner and Evening shows, plus 12 August Dinner and Evening shows. For the first time ever these performances are released in Stereo.
Bonus rehearsal tracks, recorded days before the engagement began, are also included.
The accompanying 40-page booklet includes rare photographs, memorabilia and liner notes help set the scene.
Key songs include My Way, Its Over, Until It’s Time For You To Go, American Trilogy, What Now My Love, Little Sister/ Get Back, Never Been To Spain, For The Good Times and A Big Hunk O' Love
.
EIN NOTE: These concerts have all been released by FTD on 'Summer Festival', 'What Now My Love' and '3000 South Paradise Road'.

EIN commented, "In Las Vegas Elvis performed his best at his Midnight Shows and his 1972 Summer Season was one of his greatest. Looking back there is little doubt that this would be the last Las Vegas season where Elvis would perform so many quality shows night after night for the entire season. Overall these performances showcase an energetic Elvis performing strongly for 1 hour and in great form, seem-ingly not yet bored by the ‘Casino’ crowd. With not much talk at all it is just strong performances with plenty of new selections, oldies and a couple of surprises along the way".

The soundboard recordings were great quality and so it is the MRS "Stereo mixes" that collectors will be buying this set for. As for the general public they will certainly be impressed by some truly energetic performances.

'Two Nights In Binghamton' New Import CD: Out now is a new 2-CD 1977 AUDIENCE RECORDING from the BJ Records label with the title “Two Nights In Binghamton” featuring the May 26 & 27th, 1977 shows.
Back in 1999 the Coast To Coast label released the CD ''Why Me, Lord'' featuring the May 26th 1977 concert in Binghamton, NY.
While in reasonable sound at the time, it was released in much better sound the following year on the Krypton Label, both of these releases showed that there were still nights where Elvis could pull it off and leave a mesmerizing performance when the moment was right, it took until 2006 for the second show to become available on the Graceland Records label under the name ''Second Night'' that release showed us that Elvis did not run out of steam after the previous night, if anything he was giving even more during the second show! Just listen to one of the best versions of ''Unchained Melody'' as Elvis pours his heart out.
The two Binghamton shows are a good example of some of those special moments where Elvis got it together, Elvis performs a varied setlist with a couple of songs that hadn't been performed very often
at the time, this includes the last live version of Kris Kristofferson's ''Why Me, Lord'', Simon & Garfunkel's ''Bridge Over Troubled Water'' and even ''Blue Suede Shoes'' and ''Heartbreak Hotel'' were performed whilst not a standard anymore at the time, it made for a nice surprise!
BJ Records felt it was time to re-release these two shows because of their historic place in representing Elvis his final year of performing on stage, with the original releases out of print we've put both shows together in a neat package, this allows older and newer fans to have both shows in the same place, while also enjoying the improved sound quality.
This digipack has been filled with some great photos of Elvis taken during these two shows, and newspaper reviews. - A very limited edition.

'ELVIS 22 - Essential Fifties Splices Vol1' New Import: The CMT label announces, 'ELVIS 22 - Essential Fifties Splices Volume 1'.
The series continues in the fifties and focusses on 1957.
Elvis recorded lots of different songs in very different styles
This release really shows how Elvis worked and was involved in the producing side of the tracks.
Amazing new splices are created for your listening pleasure
Highlights include a totally NEW version of "Baby I Don't Care" which has an unreleased instrumental track mixed with alternate takes of the song, the result is STUNNING!
Also on this release are some cleverly made splices of different versions of songs. "Treat Me Nice" combines the first and second movie version along with portions of the master.
"Young and Beautiful" gets the same treatment and it is very cool to hear Elvis start of solo and later the band joins in.
"One Night" combines the "sin" version with the master and even "Teddy Bear" and "All Shook Up" are mixed in a way as if they are alternate takes.
We could go on, but best thing to do is judge for yourself!
Presented in digipack on factory pressed (limited to 500 copies) disc.

'Shooting Star In Largo' New Import: Straight Arrow is pleased to announce this new 2CD set, featuring two concerts from the June 1976 Bicentennial tour, a topnotch AUDIENCE recording.
As all die-hard fans know 1976 was a somewhat problematic year for Elvis, nevertheless the June concerts from Largo are examples of really solid Presley performances, with The King sounding clear and enthusiastic and most important - in good voice.
It is worth mentioning that Elvis met Elton John prior to his evening show in Largo. Before he left, the British singer asked Elvis to sing „Heartbreak Hotel” (which Elvis did), and informed him that his parents would also be in the audience. Elton and Presley said goodbye cordially and Elton was escorted once again to his seat in the arena, but not without posing for a picture with an illustrious fan: Lisa Marie, the daughter of his idol.
Both shows were taken directly from recently found original audience-recorded master tapes and they were recorded by a famous photographer of many Elvis 70s concerts, American superfan Harold Jean Newton (July 23, 1939 - June 10, 2009). These historic concerts were never before available in the good sound quality - until now!
The June 27th, 1976, 2:30pm show was previously released on CD from an inferior and slightly incomplete source. The July 27th 8:30pm show is previously unreleased. Every second was enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. Ask your local CD vendor for teasers!
This special release is presented in de-luxe double digipack, accompanied with local press review. All images used for this project were taken on stage during Elvis' 1976 Largo concerts. Photos from June 27th 8:30pm are black and white and they are rare. A couple of them have been added in spite of the problematic quality, for historic reasons.

'Burning in Tahoe ‘76' New Import: Want more 1976 AUDIENCE RECORDINGS (EIN: Actually, No!) well MxF will soon release 'Burning In Tahoe ‘76' featuring the complete evening show from May 05th. This show is previously unreleased and taken directly from the original ambiance high-quality tape.
Elvis worked hard during this last Tahoe season in spite has not been an impressive vision He fought very hard to deliver a good show. The choice of songs was more varied with respect to the regular tour and the intimate showroom seemed to inspire Elvis to deliver longer and more solid shows. The 5 May 1976 evening show here presented doesn’t make an exception Elvis delivered 18 solid songs reaching the top with the bluesy Trying to get to you, the anthem America, and the very sensitive Hawaiian Wedding Song, at the same time in spite of the poor shape He still able to perform rockers like the classic Polk Salad Annie and overall the fast Burning Love.
The AUDIENCE tape is very good quality, as you can appreciate both Elvis and the band and at the same time, you can feel and live the atmosphere of the intimate Lake Tahoe Showroom, where the recording gives you the possibility to listen to the great enthusiasm of the public.
This new MxF double cd set is in a deluxe Long Digipack.

'Tampa Wave' 1975 CD /DVD New Import: The promotional blurb states: Millbranch Music is back with its second release in 2022!  After the overwhelming success of our recent 1976 CD/DVD set we were able to obtain more new and great 8mm footage plus a first generation audience recording from Elvis' April 1975 tour!
'Tampa Wave' is a 2-disc set: The CD includes Elvis' full performance AUDIENCE RECORDING of the evening show in Tampa, Florida April 26, 1975, taken from the original tape which has been recorded by a by then “experienced” fan who had a great seat in the 5th row - and his recording equipment with him! For our last two releases we have worked strictly with soundboard recordings, but since the Tampa show we got the original tape of is really a very good audience recording with a lot of information

regarding the excitement of the crowd in the rather small building Elvis played in (7,500 in attendance), we decided to work with it on our brand new project. After all, Elvis fans would miss a lot if there were no audience recordings - some of them sound probably even better than quite a few dry sounding SB's - but that will always stay a matter of audible taste of course.
The DVD in our new set has a running time of almost 100 minutes and includes rare and high-quality 8mm-footage of the Tampa evening show from April 26, 1975 (the same as you can hear on the CD) and more impressions from the same tour with the concerts in Lakeland, Florida...
(April 27 evening show and the show from April 28) and Atlanta from May 1st.
As a very special bonus the DVD contains an absolutely stunning performance from Elvis' concert in Richfield, filmed at his magnificent July 75' tour (July 18). The quality and length of the material we invested a lot of money in recently will blow you away! You will get 53 minutes from this show which is almost 80% of the whole performance. Especially in the last two years, there have been a lot of releases which have shown some great 8mm footage on DVD.
In the last couple of years more and more of the old private film-reels which seem to have remained hidden since the 1970´s showed up - reels that have been copied over and over and later put on rather bad video cassettes which have also been copied and copied over and over again, losing so much information with each ongoing copy. Nowadays, it is possible to work with those reels from back then, getting great results in terms of picture quality (at least in quite big parts) so we can see Elvis in all its glory on almost every tour and every Las Vegas engagement he did and taste a bit of the excitement from way back 45+ years ago.
Great times to be an Elvis-Collector!

‘Live Experience In Vegas February 1971’ New CD: An AUDIENCE recorded - February 21, 1971 Midnight Show.
The publicity notes… Not even half a year had passed since Presley’s triumphant summer festival in bright light city, during which a good part was filmed for the upcoming documentary ‘That’s The Way It Is’. In the meantime, two highly successful and thrilling short tours, the first ones since 1957, brought the legendary performer back to many fans’ doorsteps all across the nation. Coming back to Las Vegas for his fourth month-long run in the short time span of only one and a half years, it became apparent to the close observer that the Memphis singer was bored already. Too lazy to care much about an updated repertoire, all the audience got was a rehash of his earlier appearances with two exceptions; Most shows, partially due to the star catching the flu, ran only about half as long as during the previous engagement and some closed with a new song – The Impossible Dream – a beautiful Mitch Leigh composition from the tony award winning 1965 musical The Man Of La Mancha. To be fair, we have to say that even with some shows only running around 35 to 40 minutes, Elvis, as bored as he might have been at times, infused them with a good deal of his humor and vocal power, still leaving the audience in awe. It might be of interest to the

serious Presley scholar that it was during this engagement that a new orchestral theme was inaugurated. The resounding horns of Richard Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra would from now on herald the arrival of the King to the concert stage. If you want to relive the magic and excitement of Elvis in Las Vegas, this superbly packaged and good sounding album is your invitation to the showroom of the International Hotel. Enjoy the show.

Do fans really need this?

‘Summer Festival: Reflections Of '71 Vol.2’ New CD: Yet more 1971 Audience recordings that have been previously bootlegged.
The publicity notes... This 3 CD set featuring 3 audience recorded live shows from August 1971.
This set contains many highlights like Kris Kristofferson's beautiful ballad "Help Me Make It Through The Night" which Elvis only sang twice during this season. Perry Como's "It's Impossible" is a song first sang by Elvis in July 1971 during a show in Lake Tahoe. The song was an almost steady on the setlist during this August season, but after this season it only turned up once more on the setlist in February 1972. The always The powerful "It's Over", probably best known from his famous "Aloha From Hawaii" debuted also in July 1971 and is also featured on this set.
Especially knowing no soundboard recordings have yet surfaced, these audience recorded shows are all we are able to enjoy.
A total of 3 shows are included in this box set. All recordings have been painstakingly remastered & repaired.
Included in this box set are:
August 16 1971 midnight show/ August 18 dinner show / August 19 dinner show.
EIN NOTE: These were previously bootlegged on SR’s 'Trying To Get To Memphis', 'Setting The Standard' and 'Rock And Beauty' all in very poor audio quality. Buyer Beware.

‘Well, It's Christmas Time Pretty Baby: Songs Of Christmas’ New CD: The publicity notes… Elvis' fourth studio album was released in October 1957 and was titled "Elvis' Christmas Album". The album was a very clever move by Elvis' record company. Probably the Colonel also had his (big) part in this commercial masterpiece. The foldout sleeve contained a full sized 12 page booklet containing some very handsome pictures shot during the filming of "Jailhouse Rock". So this album was really something for everybody. According to the Record Industry Association Of America the album along with its reissues is the best selling Christmas album of all time. All original new tracks were recorded at the Radio Recorders studio in Hollywood .
Radio recorders™ brings you a fully packed CD containing 27 masters & alternate tracks from the sessions plus bonus tracks. Some highlights are the outtakes of "peace in the valley" & "it is no secret" taken from the original binaural tapes, these include some nice studio banter and are not released before in this quality. Previous releases offered a very weak sound for these.
All recordings on this compact disc are carefully restored and remastered. They never sounded better, it’s like you are right there in the studio.
EIN NOTE: All previously released by FTD, Elvis ONE or MRS. And what a terrible cover design, something Parker might do!

'(It's Fun) Having Elvis On Stage' New DVD: A brand new STAR dvd out now, and it is just the thing the fans have been waiting for!
Lots and lots of 'Sold Out' footage has been released in the last months, great stuff to collect, but it is simply no fun watching it due to bad edits, out of sync sound or both.
STAR has used some of the best performances out there and combined them into a great new release.
Most of these performances are complete. We see and hear Elvis do lots of great songs including rarities like "I'm Leavin' ", "Bosom Of Abraham / You Better Run" and "Big Boss Man"
Not only do we get great songs from soundboard, some tracks even have MULTI TRACK audio, like "Fairytale" (Spring Tours) it is a great version and you can see and hear Elvis frustration at the end when there is a problem with the mike, he runs over to Charlie and throws the damn thing on the ground, you can hear it fall.
Other Multitrack recordings include: "If You Love Me" (Spring Tours), "That's All Right /Proud Mary" (MSG Evening) "Heartbreak Hotel /I’ve Lost You/ Love Me Tender/Words/Sweet Caroline" (August 1970)
The STAR team also wanted to show in this release Elvis connection with the crowd, funny moments, getting gifts etc, to give you the total "Elvis Experience".
Including performances from different tours and years. It really shows "It's fun having Elvis on Stage"
A total of 33 tracks and some bonus tracks will blow you away!
Limited to 500 copies!
